... oh God. I've been so impatient for this day. But now it's here, I'm terrified to start.
Still, I have the names of my four characters, the initial situation, and somehow more motivation than I've had at the start of any other Novel Writing Month - I don't believe I'll win (I never have done before), and that's somehow reassuring.
Time to get my head down and start typing.
Update 2.30pm
I FINALLY started just now. Only for D to call me 84 words in to ask if I wanted anything from Asda. Oh well, at least I've finally got going.....!

I felt much the same this morning but it went really well once I got started. I haven't counted the few thousand words I'd written as short stories. I stopped for a break at 2, 719 and was feelign quite pleased with myself until I saw that Debs has written over 4,000! OMG the woman is a writing machine! Anyway I am about to dive in again as I have to make the most of the weekend, won't manage much on weekdays. Good luck to you, 'speak' soon. x

Don't go by what I've done today, I'm not so good after being at work all day, so no doubt will do far less during the week.
It helps too that daughter is at father's house, husband has gone out and dog is sulking.

Kudos for giving it a go, I was supposed to be doing it with a mate but have bowed out - you're waaaay ahead of me even with 400 plus words!
Debs, I'll have that problem too - my standard day in work is over 8 hours, so by the time I get home I'm fairly exhausted! I had hopes of getting quite a way past 1667 words by the end of today, but I can't see that happening :(
