Is anyone still reading?
The only thing I've been writing for a long time now is my other blog. I was starting to get stressed about that, so I decided to give myself until the end of March off completely. I hope to start writing again at the beginning of April. I do miss it, but have been glad to have the space and the freedom from guilt. Of course, I feel pretty awful about my writers' groups - I haven't even popped in for a long long time. I hope they'll still want me when I start again....
For the minute, though, I got my first cheque. Proof that I really can do this.
The lovely Cally suggested in the comments that I buy something special with my earnings. I want to do that but I'm not sure what! I was originally thinking something to do with writing, but Cally said she bought jewellery with her first earnings and then I thought that might be nice, something I can wear. I want it to be something I can keep forever.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Still reading both blogs, B.
And I know your groups miss you and will be waiting for you when you're ready to go back.
I think a piece of jewellery is a brilliant idea. My first writing cheque was absorbed into the housekeeping and I've always regretted it.

I'm still reading. Well done again on your publication.
I know nothing (or less) about jewellery so I can't help there, sorry.
Like Suzanne, most of my writing money has gone towards keeping the wolf from the door, but the idea of buying something special is a lovely one. Jewellery, or maybe something really nice and decorative for the house would both be good.
NOt knowing what you like, I think jewellery is a great idea. Earrings, bracelet, pendant - whatever. Something really special. Take carexx
I have recently been reading about one woman who lost a chain with a lot of sentimental value (given to her by her mother) while practicing for a charity run. So I'm not too sure about ear-rings that you could loose. Something nice for the house that you wouldn't get otherwise, perhaps?
so if you are non-geordie you say "ave" instead of /h/ave?
that's all i got for now lol!
i like the idea of a piece of jewelry, tangible evidence of your accomplishment!
